The Art Interactive experience with Mark Wiener and Etienne Charles in the Penthouse
of the Roger Smith Hotel reflects an exploration into Art, Jazz and video experimentation.

"Duet" was originally conceived as a mini-documentary under the working title "Duet in Black and
White for Abstract and Figure." When beginning to edit, we decided that the simple, compelling imagery
of work in progress best depicted the rhythm that exists between us as a couple and the art that each
of us creates. The message, best conveyed through theuse of only those visuals with the score by
Yukari, is that romance and art are inextricably linked for us.

3 short films created in the closing moments of 2009, on the last Sunday of the year. The works

represent a continuing series of collaborative explorations with musical performers into the relationships

between my work and the spirit of music which has always been a driving force in its creation. These sessions

and others with flutist Yukari at the studio in Chelsea were originally streamed live on my website on the

afternoon of December 27th.

On Friday January 30th we had a projection Jam session on the roof
| of the 123. We set up the Wacom tablet and two projectors. The
content from this session will be used in a multimedia experiment
in February 2009.

Two artists bring together their spirits with 3 musicians in a live visual/auditory creation.

As a musical response to mark-making and figuration, David Manuel (digital), David Intrator (sax) and
Yukari (flute) will improvise based upon the conducting of the artists, painters Michael Manning and Mark Wiener at
the catalog launch and closing reception for the group exhibition including their works, Black Madonna. Their work in
performance will reflect both Mark Wiener's mixed media pieces based on his never-before-shown photographs of the
pop star Madonna and the tradition of the Black Madonna as a subject throughout the history of art.
