July 15-20: “Inside-Out”
an installation by Mark Wiener

at The Lab Gallery - Hotel Roger Smith

"There are moments that you wish you can get inside, then out again, then inside one more time, these moments are what "Inside Out" is all about. Using all surfaces of the Lab, I will explore my visual language past the edges of the canvas, in a 3-dimensional environment . Working “inside out” will bring the layers and dimensions built into my single-surface works out to play on the walls, floors, and windows of the Lab, for an experience of partaking of the process and seeing from a new point-of view." - mw 7/10/07

Mark Wiener’s “Inside Out” at the Roger Smith Lab Gallery was made possible in part by VIVA® Towels

Review on Culture Catch - July 31, 2007 -D. Dominick Lombardi

The chances of seeing a storefront in midtown Manhattan converted into a blank canvas for an artist to create an automatic, abstract work of art is pretty slim, ...

This time, it was that very abstract expressionist painting I mention above - a work which encompassed the windows and floors of the space... cont...
